When Ginger first started running, it was more about finding a way to relieve stress and get a workout in. Now, it's about the fun and the friendships. In June of 2014, she made the choice to become a Streaker and hasn't looked back since. She recently completed her third marathon improving her time by 39 minutes this spring.

Why did you start running?
I started running for stress relief and fitness. Now it is more for fun. I have a lot of terrific running partners.
How many sessions have you been a Streaker?
I am on my 3rd streaker session, and plan on many more.
What do you love most about being a Streaker?
I really love the camaraderie of other runners. You really form strong bonds. Especially on long runs for marathon and half marathon training. 22 miles go by alot faster with supportive people around you.
What running accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of trimming 39 minutes off of my first marathon time. I went from 4:42 in my first marathon to 4:03 for my third in 17 months.
What are your 2015-2016 goals?
My main goal for 2015-2016 is to stay healthy. I would love to grab another marathon PR in the spring. I am just planning on having fun this fall and maybe do a few halfs & 10K's.
Best piece of advice you'd give someone considering their first half-marathon or marathon?
Join Streakers and train with coach Jen. Enjoy your training and don't stress out over every detail or workouts that don't go the way you wanted them to. Once you cross the finish line with all of your fellow streakers cheering you on- all the good, bad, and ugly of your training will be worth it.
What is your favorite place to run?
I love running anywhere in Greensboro. Trails, pavement.. as long as I do not see a snake I am good.
