Training Programs are Back!!!
The Streakers program, founded by Coach Jen in 2011, is great for both the beginner or experienced runner seeking an training experience in a group setting. This group has options for those people who have never run before, those that are trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon, and everyone in-between. The program has served nearly 600 runners since inception and has produced numerous Boston Marathon qualifiers and thousands of PRs. All distances from 5K through ultra marathon are welcome.
Streakers
This summer session will be focused on 5K and 10K distance, but with the personalized training option, Jen will tailor your plan to whichever race you chose. There will be two different programs this session, the Brennan Huff Subgroup, which is a templated program aimed at beginning 5K training and Chazz Michael Michaels, Ricky Bobbies, and Frank the Tank Subgroups, which will all be personalized training programs and divided up according to pace.
- Dates: May 3rd-July 17, 2021
- Group Runs: Mondays & Thursdays, staggered from 5:40pm, at the Spencer Love Tennis Courts in Greensboro. However, if you cannot make it or do not feel comfortable meeting in a group, you will always know what to run on each day so you can run where and when you feel comfortable.
- Culminating IN-PERSON event: The Cook Medical Beat the Heat 5K on Saturday, July 17th
Sub-Groups:
Brennan Huff: $120, 5:40pm
- A templated beginner 5K training plan created by Coach Jen
- Two formal weekly group runs on Mondays & Thursdays
- Pertinent training info/guidance emailed weekly from Coach Jen
- Suggested routes/maps/written directions emailed weekly from Coach Jen for group runs
- Unlimited email communication with Coach Jen
- A Streakers tech shirt
- A 15% storewide discount at Fleet Feet Greensboro & High Point
- Triad-area race discounts when applicable
This will be a beginner 5K “NOBO” style sub-group. All participants are encouraged to “go the distance” together at the group runs. Individual participants may choose between two plans: a walk/run plan or a full-run plan.
A mentor will be walking/running with, and encourage, participants to stay together at both weekly group runs.
Chazz Michael Michaels: $150, 5:50pm
Ricky Bobby: $150, 6:00pm
Frank the Tank: $150, 6:05pm
- A one-on-one video, phone, or socially-distanced consultation with Coach Jen
- A customized training plan created by Coach Jen that is tailored to your individual experience, current fitness, goals, and work/family schedule
- Two formal weekly group runs on Mondays & Thursdays
- Training plan updates to accommodate unforeseen changes (i.e. goals, sickness, injury; etc.)
- Workout descriptions, individualized target paces based on training progress, and other pertinent training info/guidance emailed weekly from Coach Jen
- Suggested routes/maps/written directions emailed weekly from Coach Jen for group runs
- Individual race goal setting and strategies
- Unlimited email communication with Coach Jen
- A Streakers tech shirt

These sub-groups receive individualized training in a group setting. Although there is a group race target, participants may choose to gear towards any race/distance of their choice within the program dates.
An assistant coach will be appointed to lead the Monday group runs for these sub-groups and also assist the Brennan Huff mentor in getting their group organized.
Coach Jen will be at the Thursday runs only.
